Children's Procedures

photo_cWe serve healthy patients as young as 2 years of age, performing retina, cataract and eye muscle procedures,  as well as examinations. When caring for young children, we always have a Pedriatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Nurse and Pediatric Anesthesiologist present.

To ensure both your and your child's comfort, parents may stay with their child before and after surgery, and your child is free to bring a favorite stuffed animal or security blanket for added reassurance.

We encourage parents to discuss the surgery with the child beforehand to help alleviate unnecessary stress.  Parents are also encouraged to stay with the child in Pre-Op until surgery begins and rejoin the child as soon as it's appropriate. Upon release, we recommend that one adult drive home while the other cares for the child.  One parent must remain in the facility the entire time the child is here.
